The Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce formally announces its support of the Garvies Point Waterfront Project.

The project is a collaborative effort between the City of Glen Cove (including the City Council, the Planning Board, CDA, IDA) and RXR Glen Isle Partners. “The waterfront reflects the character of our community while providing significant and lasting economic benefits.”

The Chamber’s Board of Directors is pleased to support the project as it aligns with the Chamber’s mission of enhancing the health and profitability of area businesses. The Chamber is taking Mayor Spinello’s lead in supporting a project 20 years in the making—a project that will create jobs for over 450 construction workers and business for local suppliers. By providing services and support through its member businesses, the Chamber will help local establishments as they provide their various services to the workers. Businesses will experience increased sales as $36 million in salaries have the potential for spending in the area.

In addition, the Chamber supports the construction of the proposed ferry terminal at the waterfront site, as it will bring new visitors and growth to the Glen Cove area business community.
