Todd Rechler Honored by New Jersey Jazz Society

The “sanofi-aventis Jazzfest,” now in its 32nd year, stands as the New Jersey region’s longest running summer jazz festival. This year, the weekend jazz fest, sponsored by RXR Realty and hosted by the New Jersey Jazz Society, honored Todd Rechler (pictured, right), President of RXR’s New Jersey Division and RXR Construction & Development. Jeannie Tsukamoto (left), president of the Madison Borough Council, and Don Jay Smith (center), of the New Jersey Jazz Society, presented Mr. Rechler with an award recognizing his appreciation for the arts and generous support for the festival over the past several years. Mr. Rechler, who is a Mendham resident, has been active in many charitable endeavors in Northern New Jersey and is a major supporter of Jazzfest, as it brings an enduring cultural awareness to Madison and the surrounding region.

This year the event was held at Drew University and featured great jazz musicians such as Curtis Stigers, who was dubbed “the best male jazz singer of his generation” by JazzTimes, and The Houston Person Quartet, who’s leading saxophone player, Houston Person, is best known for his soulful performances and his longtime association with singer Etta Jones. The quality of this year’s performance drew a vast crowd of music lovers of all ages, making the event a huge success.
